Alex Hughes serves as Enrollment Communications Coordinator, focused on supporting and strengthening communications and storytelling efforts for Enrollment’s Commonwealth Partnerships team.

Full Bio

Alex brings a strong background across various storytelling ecosystems, from higher education to youth education to journalism. Prior to joining the University of Virginia, they served as communications specialist at Seattle Central College and as a student columnist for their alma mater’s alumni magazine. At UVA, Alex is excited to contribute to impact storytelling that is both creative and accessible.

Alex hails from Seattle, Washington, and studied at Stanford University, where they earned degrees in English and journalism. Outside of work, they enjoy fiber arts, spending time with their cats, trying new foods, and collecting pretty rocks.
