Devesh Petwal serves as the inaugural Director of Enrollment Intelligence and Analytics, where he leads efforts to build capacity for evidence-based decision-making across Enrollment.

He ensures UVA's strategies for admission, financial aid, student success, and community service are grounded in sound intelligence. Working closely with colleagues across the University, Devesh fosters a culture of collaboration, enhances data governance, and strengthens partnerships across divisions to ensure analytics support student access, equity, and success.
Before joining UVA, Devesh held key roles at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, The Ohio State University, and Kent State University, where he led the development of Strategic Enrollment Plans and utilized predictive modeling to shape recruitment and retention strategies.
Devesh holds a master’s degree in Business Analytics from Kent State, specializing in predictive modeling, data visualization, and strategic analytics. He enjoys exploring emerging technologies and drawing inspiration from nature. He believes that effective analytics begin with asking insightful questions that ignite curiosity.
