Sarah Derreberry serves as the Director of Enrollment Communications and works with talented communicators across Enrollment’s offices to share the University’s story, empower students, and highlight the wide variety of experiences at UVA.

Sarah brings a decade of experience in higher education communications to her role, having previously worked at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as Senior Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing in Carolina’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Director of Advertising and Communications Strategy in University Communications.
Before transitioning to higher education, Sarah worked in advertising where she crafted communications for a variety of brands in the retail and food industries such as Cargill, The Coleman Company, Old Speckled Hen, and the South Carolina Department of Agriculture.
Sarah is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she studied journalism and English. She enjoys working with teams to tell meaningful stories that foster connection and inspire action.
